The evolution in emergency evacuation and rescue continues as Tractel® Ltd. introduces its second generation Derope® emergency rescue/controlled descent device. After years of being the most popular and easy to use rescue device in the industry, Tractel® Ltd. went to work making it better. With an increased descent speed and twin exit hubs designed into the casing, the Derope® descent device is not only more efficient but more durable as well.
Additional new features include: dual descent control pig tails, external cooling fins, integrated rope locking cleat and completely sealed brake housing which allows the Derope descent device to be one of the few units on the market to pass the ridge wet and cold testing procedures of the Canadian Standards Association (CSA). With optional features that include a crank handle for raising and lowering, and a ladder and tripod bracket, the Derope® descent device truly is the most versatile rescue unit on the market.

Tracpac-DL F2 Extendible Rescue Lanyard
Tracpac F2 Extendible Rescue Lanyard

The Tracpac-DL rescue lanyard serves as a dual purpose shock-absorbing lanyard that functions both for fall arrest and rescue applications. The Tracpac-DL is designed with a dual shock absorber which allows each leg to act as an independent shock absorber to reduce the effect of any side load impact potential. It also incorporates extendible (stretch) legs which offer more freedom of movement while reducing tripping hazards during climbing.
The F2 version of the Tracpac-DL allows for a "fall factor" of two or a 12 ft. (3.6 m) free fall. The benefit is important when a worker is anchored to an attachment point that is below the connection point on the harness. This shock absorber ensures that the impact force stay below 1,350 lbs. (6 kN) for workers under 310 lbs. (140 kg).
The key feature of the Tracpac-DL is the integrated rescue ring at each end of the lanyard legs which allows the rescuer an easy access connection point so that the lanyard, which is under tension of the fallen victim's weight, can be disconnected from the anchorage point, allowing for a more effective and time efficient rescue.
Designed specifically to meet "single safety rail" turbine designs such as General Electric®, this rescue lanyard has an increased distance between the anchor attachment hook and rescue ring allowing the lanyard and Derope® descent device to be attached to the same safety rail which ensures the proper disconnect distance is achieved during rescue.

The F2-Stretchfor rescue lanyard has been designed as a dual purpose shock absorbing lanyard that responds to both fall arrest and rescue applications.
The primary function of the F2-Stretchfor rescue lanyard is to serve as a shock absorber which arrests a fall by reducing the impact forces and absorbing the energy that occurs during the fall.
The F2-Stretchfor rescue lanyard's secondary function is to act as a rescue line by providing an in-line connection point which allows the victim to be raised or lowered safely after the fall.
