Fiberglass Hot Sticks — Standard Specifications
Foam Filled Hot Stick
There are a variety of Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic (FRP) constructions used for hot sticks. Included are foam filled tubular sticks used for all products requiring solid construction. Other product applications require hollow tubular sections. Both of these processes meet ASTM F711 Standard Specifications for FRP and tube used in live line tools.
Foam filled hot sticks are manufactured using the pultrusion process. Hollow hot sticks are produced using a winding or wrapping process. Both methods incorporate fiberglass reinforcement in a resin matrix which creates a moisture resistant laminate with excellent electrical and mechanical properties.
Hot stick production is 100% electrically proof tested. Hot Stick blanks must pass a test of 100kV/12” (305mm) for 5 minutes without detectable heating prior to being accepted.

Lineman's Strap Hoist
Lineman’s Hoists are lightweight and easy to handle. All the control levers are easy to reach and operate by hand or with a hot stick. The castings are corrosion resistant aluminum alloy with forged steel alloy hoods and stainless steel springs and shafts.
The fiberglass handles are built to ASTM hot stick standards. The 300DLMH and 344LMH can be operated by hot sticks, shotguns and/or lanyards. 300LMH requires hand operation.
When the web strap is clean and dry it has dielectric properties, but it is not to be considered an insulating member. All hooks swivel to ensure positive strap alignment and light duty hook latches are standard on all models. Repairs are easily done in the field.
