Water Barricades are Safer for Everyone--pedestrians, motorists and construction workers benefit from better driver guidance in construction zones, and in the event of a crash, plastic barriers are much safer on impact than concrete. In the air industry, pilots, travelers, and anyone who works on the airfield is safer due to better construction demarcation. Water-filled barricades are formidable obstacles that are useful in protecting military targets and other sensitive facilities.

We invented the world's first plastic, water-filled airport runway barricade, and our heavy duty, highly visible barricade has met with great enthusiasm from airport professionals. A variety of solar lights can help you mark your airfield for improved safety at night.

Our products are NCHRP-350 crash tested and certified at the highest level--TL3. That means our LCBs and Barriers can be used on federally-funded roadway construction sites at the highest-allowed speeds. Don't know what "LCB" really means? We can help you understand confusing jargon and recommend products that adhere to specifications.

High Security
Our barricades are used to protect some of our nation's most important government and military buildings. Formidable deterrents, they're ideal for security zones since they help guard against surprise attacks.

Crowd Control
Everybody likes to have a good time! Keeping people safe and events under control keeps it that way. Our innovative crowd barricades are the easiest to set up products on the market, and with built-in graphics panels, sponsors will pay for advertising that reaches their audience.

MUTCD and FHWA Compliant barriers and barricades

Airport Safety
Improving Airport Safety
According to the FAA, poor marking of construction zones, freight ramp areas, and other hazards primarily caused a signifi cant number of ground accidents involving aircraft. Since Off the Wall Products introduced the first water-filled plastic barricade to the airport industry in 1999, we have sold more than 312,000 feet of barricades, improving safety and reducing the potential for accidents by providing clear runway and hazard marking.

The FAA standard for appropriate barricades:
“All barricades, temporary markers and other objects placed and left in safety areas associated with any open runway or taxiway must be as low as possible to the ground; of low mass; easily collapsible upon contact with an aircraft or any of its components; and weighted or sturdily attached to the surface to prevent displacement from prop wash, jet blast, wing vortex, or other surface wind currents.”

Off the Wall Products’ AR10x96 and AR24x96 are the ideal airport runway barricades because they are:
COLLAPSIBLE. High density polyethylene plastic will easily collapse when run over by aircraft. Under many circumstances barricades will pop back into shape.
HEAVY AND STABLE. The AR10x96 weighs in at a substantial 260 lbs. when filled, and the AR24x96 at 785 lbs. These barricades stay where they are positioned. Accept no substitutions! Our competitors’ barricade holds only 5 gallons of water.

AR10x96 HDPE
10”H x 96”L x 10”W x .20” Wall

Specially Designed for Airport Construction
Airports worldwide use our barricades to mark off hazardous construction zones and ensure traveler safety. Our low profile barricades can be ordered with orange and white reflective sheeting and can hold up to 2 flashing red lights per section.* Foreign-object-debris-free, they can stand up to jet blast.
And since they’re made of non-conductive material, they won’t spark if struck by a metal object.
Our most widely used model of airport barricades, the AR10x96 HDPE, provides maximum visibility with minimum interference.
Barricade sections interlock to each other, forming a continuous wall. Sections can be set up in almost any shape, straight or curved.
Accommodates up to 2 flags per barricade. Approved for purchase with AIP funds.

Work Zone Protection
If you need to maintain a substantial yet low-profile boundary around a work site, the AR24x96 HDPE is for you. Slightly larger, this airport barricade is ideal for setting where more vertical height and substance are required. Extremely easy to set up, these barricades are only 37 lbs. empty. But at 785 lbs. filled
with water, they are a durable, no-maintenance-required answer to work zone protection. Designed to prevent access to hazardous work areas and/or runways by forming a continuous wall. Our modular design allows the barricades to be connected quickly and easily to form a tamper-proof inseparable wall that can withstand jet blast. Extremely durable.
Can be ordered with orange and white reflective sheeting and lights. Offers a vandal-proof locking mechanism and can also be repositioned using a forklift. FOD-free and made of non-conductive material, this barricade is safe for use in fueling zones. Approved for purchase with AIP funds.

Barriers and Barricades
The term “Barrier” and “Barricade” are often used interchangeably, but understanding the difference is critical.
LCBs offer a substantial measure of safety in a construction zone by providing visual guidance to motorists and pedestrians.
Unlike cones or barrels, which have gaps and can often create confusion, LCBs form a continuous wall.
Off the Wall Products manufactures both longitudinal channelizing barricades (LCBs) and barriers.
While both Barriers and Longitudinal Channelizing Barricades (LCBs) are MUTCD, OSHA and FHWA accepted devices, they are designed for different uses. By definition, a barrier is designed to provide positive protection, containing and redirecting an impacting vehicle. On the other hand LCBs have no containment capabilities and do not provide positive protection.

Off the Wall LCB Certifications
• Meets MUTCD specifi cation 6F.66 for Longitudinal Channelizing Barricades.
• Meets NCHRP-350 requirements for Longitudinal Channelizing Barricades at TL3.
• Accepted by FHWA as a Longitudinal Channelizing Barricade for speeds of up to 62.5 mph (TL3). We retain the only federal acceptance on this product. Accept no imitations!*

*Be sure to review the federal acceptance letter if you require an LCB on your jobsite. Some similar products may not be federally approved.

MB350 Barrier (shown above)
42”H x 72”L x 24”W x .31” Wall 125 lbs. • 1666 lbs. full
Jersey Style Safety Shape

The Multi-Barrier MB350 barrier system with the MB350 Kit (shown in picture) provides positive protection in the event of a crash. It meets all NCHRP-350, Test Level 3 (TL3) specifications and is approved by the FHWA for use on federally funded highway construction projects.
The Texas DOT purchased three one-thousand-foot sections of barriers to replace concrete medians in three locations in the Houston area. In the event of an evacuation, each section can be emptied of water and quickly moved out of the median to allow evacuation of the city on all lanes of traffic. No other plastic barrier manufacturer has completed a job of this size. Our experience in projects of this level is second to none.
• Two channels (2 inches in diameter) are molded horizontally through the barrier to further strengthen the walls and to provide a conduit for the 1-inch diameter studs which support and attach the steel bar side kit panels.
• The minimum Length of Need (LON) for NCHRP-350 Report compliance is 33 interconnected barriers or 198-1/2 ft. Each barrier must be ballasted to capacity with an approximate weight of 1,666 lbs. Installation instructions are supplied with the barrier system. Maximum deflection 11 feet upon impact at TL3.

What Makes Barriers Different
Temporary traffic barriers are designed to protect workers, bicyclists and pedestrians and to prevent penetration by vehicles while minimizing injuries to vehicle occupants. In work zones where pedestrians are judged especially vulnerable to errant vehicles, all foot traffic should be separated by barrier systems. They are far superior to concrete, which has been proven to contribute to driver fatalities in construction accidents.

Chain link panels (4’ x 6’ sections) form 8’ high fence.*
A smaller 1-1/2” x 4’ fence panel is also available to be used in conjunction with the Corner Connector in order to fully enclose an area.
*Fence panels are not NCHRP-350 approved. This application is designed for use around construction sites when a reduced view is desirable.
