One important aspect of fall protection is a custom designed engineered system. At North Safety Products we are committed to providing our customers with an economical engineered system which are user friendly and complies with all required standards.
All of our engineered systems are designed by one of our professional engineers on staff to meet site specific criteria that our customers demand. Our network of installers, which are located throughout North America, can install any of our systems.
The Saf- T- Line lifeline system is a continuous system which allows the user to travel in any direction without attaching and detaching at every intermediate anchor. The system can be designed to travel horizontally, vertically and around corners without having the user detach from the system at all.
The Saf- T-Line horizontal lifeline system provides fall arrest for all buildings and industrial sites, from a single cable to a complete network of systems for maintenance, cleaning, access, and inspection.
All of the engineered systems are custom designed with one goal - SAFETY. Our designers use cutting edge technology to minimize fall windows and anchor system requirements while at the same time meeting all applicable regulations.

Self-Installation
If you decide to install the Saf- T-Line system yourself, our self-installation manual will guide you through the steps to installing your system. Our engineering staff designs all our systems and then specifies all components. A self-installation package will give the customer all the components required to complete the installation with common hand tools. All swaging of the cable is completed at our manufacturing facilities and only mechanical connections are required during site installation.
The horizontal Saf-T-Line allows safe horizontal movement at heights and up to 15° from the vertical. It can be installed on varied structures (roof, fayade, traveling crane path, etc.). Made of stainless steel, it can be used with 3 different runners (FP9500, FP950 I, FP9502), which can all be connected or disconnected at any location on the cable
The Saf-T-Line system utilizes a combination of an energy absorber and tension indicator. This combination allows the users to visually check if the system is properly tensioned. If the tension requires adjustment then the user simply increases or decreases the tension by hand until the ideal tension is achieved.
Runner
The Saf-T-Line runners were designed with simplicity in mind. The runner guides through the intermediate brackets without any user manipulation. The runners are virtually maintenance free with very few moving components. The runner can be installed at any point along the cable, which makes this system much more user friendly than the traditional system where the runner can only be installed at an entry gate.
Energy Absorber
The key to any engineered system design is the ability to reduce the forces on the end anchors to a level which traditional building structures can easily accommodate. The Saf- T-Line energy absorber can be easily installed in series with the cable to reduce the forces acting on the anchors to acceptable levels. A visual inspection can determine if the energy absorber has been deployed before the user attaches to the system.
The Saf-T-Line Horizontal Lifeline System is an engineered system that can accommodate two users per intermediate span simultaneously.
All Saf-T-Line components are manufactured from marine grade stainless steel for long lasting safety even in extreme environments.
Testing
All systems which are installed by our professional installers are tested and visually inspected to North Safety Products specifications. This testing is an important key when we commission a system. All testing is documented in our database for future reference.
System Commissioning
Once all the testing is complete, our professional installer will commission the system. Full documentation is posted on site to ensure that all the user's are trained to use the system and are aware of the safety procedures which the system was designed to meet.
Training
An engineered system can only be effective if the users understand the limitations. With every installation of our engineered systems, our professional installers also train the user on use, care and maintenance. Once the system is installed the users are required to conduct on site training. This is an important key to compliance and a user friendly of engineered system.
