General maintenance systems are typically a fall arrest system. These systems incorporate a full body harness, fall arrester and either a temporary or permanent anchor. Ladder climbing systems are designed to protect the workers while there are climbing a fixed ladder.

A warehousing system must be flexible enough to allow the worker to travel but at the same time react quickly in the event of a fall. Using a retractable lifeline allows the worker the freedom to move around but in the event of a fall engages and arrest the fall within inches.	Construction applications are generally fall arrest. The end user wants a cost effective system that meets all the regulations.	A Bridge construction application usually incorporates a horizontal lifeline, and stanchions. The system is usually temporary and can be taken from job site to site

Municipality work usually involves a confined space system. A tripod or davit system is ideal for extracting workers from a confined space.	Window washing systems are suspension systems which are designed to raise or lower the individual to an area. An example of a system would be the Res-Q-man, bosun chair. A secondary fall arrest system must be used which is independent of the raise lower system	Roofer's kits are designed to prevent the worker from reaching the fall hazard. In the event the worker must be close the edge of the roof, a roofer's kit must be equipped with a full body harness and a fall arrester.
