Bumping Posts

Nolan offers a range of bumping posts, some of which can be installed with ordinary hand tools. There is no center rail and spiking is unnecessary. The SBP model clamps to the rails at all four corners. Attached pads rest securely against the ties. Impact force is transferred down into the ties, providing a cushioned stopping action. The SBP-TR model bolts through the rails at all four corners. A cushion head is available for all models. Built for standard 56.5" (1,435 mm) track gauge.

Permanent Automatic Rerailer
Model PAR-1
Nolan's permanent automatic rerailer (PAR-1) is for use in loading areas where constant spillage makes staying on the tracks difficult, or anywhere that a derailed car might cause damage to other equipment such as bridges, switches, underpasses, car movers, retarders, buildings and walkways.
This rerailer is a heavy-formed plate-type weldment with ramps to lift the car up to the top of the rail. The diamond-shaped center plate guides the wheels to the rail. Rerailing is automatically accomplished from either side and from either direction.
Treated-wood support members with fasteners are furnished. The user must provide longer cross ties for additional support. Built for standard 56.5" (1,435 mm) track gauge.

Switch Point Protectors

Models SPP-90 and SPP-115
Nolan's manganese steel switch-point protector increases the service life of switch points by absorbing the impact of passing car wheels. The protector momentarily deflects the wheel flange so it misses the tip of the switch point. The protector is bolted to the inside of the straight main rail leading into the switch. Normally the protector is placed two inches ahead of the switch-point tip, but this distance may vary due to speed and traffic conditions. This switch-point protector is reversible, to increase its useful service life. Furnished complete with manganese washers and steel shim.

Model SD
Nolan's model SD Sliding Derail has a rugged double-end design for permanent installation. Like all of Nolan's derails, the model SD is cast in a special ductile alloy. It adjusts automatically to most popular rail heights. An optional model LS heavy-duty, cast operating stand with an easy-to-use throw handle is available. The handle may be padlocked in either position. The hole vane in red and the solid vane in white are bolted through the shaft to ensure alignment.
