**V-Gard Protective Caps and Hats**

V-Gard protective caps and hats from MSA consist of a polyethylene shell and suspension system working together as a protection system. V-Gard headwear features advanced styling in either cap or hat styles, wit the cap available in three sizes: small (6 - 7 1/8), standard (6 1/2 - 8), and large (7 1/2 - 8 1/2). V-Gard caps and hats meet or exceed the applicable requirements for a Type 1 helmet (top impact) as outlined in ANSI Z89.1 1997, Class E and G (formerly Class B and A). V-Gard caps and hats are not specifically designed to protect against lateral blows from the front, side or rear. MSA Vanguard™ protective helmets are so designed and must be used if lateral protection is desired. WARNING!!! Do not mix suspension and helmet sizes! Make sure the sizes match (example: standard size suspension with standard size helmet). Use only MSA suspensions on a MSA helmet. Failure to comply with the above will reduce the energy absorbing ability of the protective helmet, which can result in serious injury or death.

The bright designs on the caps are very attractive and have a superior finish. There are five designs available, all on white V-Gard caps. The Freedom series caps, which come with MSA's Fas-Trac® suspension, are lightweight, durable and comfortable. They meet all applicable requirements of ANSI Z89.1 2003 for a Type I helmet (Class E). The helmet's accessory slots accept all MSA V-Gard accessories.

Vanguard Helmets for Lateral Protection

Vanguard (Polycarbonate) and Vanguard II (Polyethylene) helmets are designed to provide limited impact and penetration in the event of a top or lateral blow to the head, as well as limited protection against contact with high voltage conductors. Representing the latest generation of protective headwear, Vanguard II helmets are tested to the same energy level for both top and lateral blows. Compliant with test requirements of ANSI Z89.1-1997 for Type I and Type II helmets (Class E and G) (formerly Class B and A) and are certified to CAN/CSA Z94.1-1992, Class E (Canadian lateral protective helmet standard)

Skullgard caps and hats meet or exceed the applicable requirements for a Type 1 helmet (top impact) as outlined in ANSI Z89.1 1997, Class G (electrical -- low voltage) (formerly Class A).

Topgard® Protective Caps and Hats
Uni-ridge design protects wearer from falling objects

Lightweight, durable Topgard slotted caps and non-slotted hats are built for use by utilities and other industries where head protection from falling objects is necessary, along with good dielectric properties (non conduction of electrical current). Limited resistance to top impact or penetration is retained through a wide range of temperatures.
Topgard caps and hats meet or exceed the applicable requirements for a Type I helmet (top impact) as outlined in ANSI Z89.1 1997, Class E (electrical -- high voltage) and G (electrical -- low voltage) (formerly Class B and A).
Topgard caps and hats are not specifically designed to protect against lateral blows from the front, side or rear. MSA's Vanguard Type II protective helmets are so designed and must be used if lateral protection is desired.

Thermalgard Protective Caps and Hats
A helmet with elevated temperature capability

Thermalgard slotted caps and hats are lightweight, high strength helmets intended for use where workers may need a helmet with elevated temperature capability. The injection molded, rivetless shell of glass reinforced nylon has a beaded edge for improved rigidity. Slots in the cap provide for mounting hearing protection muffs, welding helmets, and faceshields. Comfo-Cap Protective Headwear

The Comfo-Cap protective cap is widely used in the mining industry for head protection. The cap has a low crown clearance for work in low ceiling areas and is equipped with a lamp bracket and cordholder to support a miner's lamp.
Made of lightweight, tough polycarbonate plastic, the shell helps resist top impacts. Molded cross ridges on the crown increased strength and rigidity. The cap's peak helps protect the wearer's eyes and face from small falling objects.
The Comfo-Cap is not specifically designed to protect against lateral blows from the front, side or rear. MSA's Vanguard Type II helmets are so designed and must be used if lateral protection is desired.
