V~Gard Protective Caps and Hats from MSA consist of a polyethylene shell and suspension system working together as a protection system. V-Gard headwear features advanced styling in either cap or hat styles, with the cap available in three sizes: small (6 to 7-1/8), standard (6-1/2 to 8) and large (7 to 8-1/2).
V-Gard Caps and Hats meet or exceed the applicable requirements for a Type I helmet (top impact) as outlined in ANSI Z89.1-2003, Class E, and also as outlined in CSA Z94.1-2005 (Class E) with 1-Touch® and Fas-Trac® suspensions.
V-Gard Caps and Hats are not specifically designed to protect against lateral blows from the front, side, or rear. MSA's Vanguard™ II Protective Helmets are so designed and must be used if lateral protection is desired. For more information, contact your MSA distributor.

Wearers can choose the optional bright orange stretch nylon Chip Arrester with elastic. The Chip Arrester attaches to the frame on five points and helps to keep debris from falling behind the frame when the frame is raised over the hardhat.

Choose from a wide variety of visors that fit easily on MSA faceshield frames. MSA visors are manufactured for use on ONLY MSA frames and assemblies for compliance with ANSI Z87.1 2003.
Visors should always be worn with primary eye protection such as MSA high impact-resistant spectacles or goggles. Visors should be inspected frequently and replaced immediately if worn, scratched, or damaged in any way. Selection of proper models for specific hazards and communication of all instructions, precautions, and limitations to the wearer is the responsibility of user safety specialists, who are also responsible to see that they are strictly observed. Failure to comply with any of the above could result in serious injury or death.
Approvals
All MSA Visors meet or exceed applicable requirements of ANSI Z87.1 2003.
Do not use MSA visors for welding, elevated temperature applications, or for protection against other infrared radiation sources unless the MSA visor is approved for such applications. Never use any MSA visor for sports, simulated war games, paintball games, or similar activities. A pitted or scratched lens reduces eye protection and vision. Inspect routinely and replace worn or damaged parts immediately. Do not alter or modify this product. Do not use near open flame. Failure to follow these warnings can result in permanent impairment of sight, other serious personal injury, or death.
Maintenance: clean visor with mild soap and water. Cleaning dry or with coarse cloth will scratch the visor.
