Immersion Suits
Survival suits are recommended for rescue workers and
crew on oil rigs, cargo ships, passenger ships, fishing boats and helicopter transport. This category comprises work suits, constant wear suits and safety/ abandonment suits. Dry suits provide maximum flotation and protection againstloss of body heat, thus extending survival time in cold water. All suits
are approved according to IMO and/or SOLAS requirements, EU-directives. Our new
Sea-Air Suit is the first ever product approved according to both SOLAS and EU aviation authorities· requirements.
Flotation Garments
A flotation garment provides enough buoyancy to keep an unconscious person afloat. Buoyancy foam protects against heat loss and extends survival time during a rescue operation from about 0.5 hours in normal clothes to about 2.5 hours at 10ºC. Suits and jackets are designed to be light and comfortable for daily work on or beside water.
Life Jackets
A flotation aid provides buoyancy to help a conscious person stay afloat. Inflatable life jackets provide superior comfort because they only inflate when needed. This makes them more likely to be worn whenever there is a risk of falling into water. SOLAS approved life jackets have an automatic emergency light for visibility at night. An automatic device inflates the jacket when it is subjected to water or water pressure. It can also be manually inflated.
