Keeps you Dry The garments in the Helly Tech® collection release condensation and perspiration, while keeping rain and snow out. More than 20 years of experience with waterproof clothes that transport moisture, in addition to a thorough knowledge of materials and design, have ensured the production of first-class garments. Helly Tech®-fabrics are constructed either with a thin film that transports moisture or by applying several thin layers of polymers to the reverse side of the fabric. For all practical purposes both systems work well. They are equally efficient at releasing body moisture. At the same time the micro pores in the fabric are too small for water molecules to penetrate from outside. All seams are sealed to ensure that the whole garment is waterproof. Superior in Tests Our know-how is demonstrated in our choice of the best materials and most advanced construction techniques. Yet it is still important for us to adapt the clothes to different working conditions and requirements from the various industries. So, we offer Helly Tech®-garments with different degrees of functionality at varying price ranges.

High Visibility Functionality
High visibility is achieved by applying a combination of fluorescent fabrics and reflective stripes/bands.
Different working environments have different high visibility needs -eg. road building, railway personnel, municipality workers, airport staff, etc.

Requirements
The standard sets requirements for the minimum area and color performance for fluorescent background material for daytime visibility - fluorescent yellow and orange-red.
The standard also sets minimum requirements for reflective striping as new and after pre-treatment, which gives night-time visibility when illuminated by vehicle headlights.

Three Performance Levels
Three garment classes are established based upon the amount of fluorescent background and reflective striping material. It is not necessary to wear class 3 garments in all jobs. A combination of fluorescent fabrics and darker fabrics might provide sufficient visibility and at the same time offer other benefits.
Two levels of photometric performance are based upon the brightness and intensity of the reflected light on the reflective striping. Helly Hansen uses quality materials from 3M.

It has been over 125 years since sea captain Helly Juell Hansen first made waterproof clothing for fishermen. In 1877 he took his work clothes and applied linseed oil on the outside to provide weather protection. It worked - the jackets, trousers and sou'wester hats became waterproof. This clothing was better than the traditional garments, and sailors rushed to buy from Helly Hansen. It was simple, functional and truly meaningful innovation - and the company has continued this trend ever since.

PVC Protection Layer
PVC coated waterproof clothing guarantees the very best defense against moisture, is very durable, and resistant to abrasions, chemicals, acids and oils.
Impertech™
The waterproof PU coating and soft knit backing material combine to make a unique stretch fabric that is highly durable, flexible, virtually noiseless, and helps disperse perspiration. PU coated waterproof clothing is more lightweight, softer, and cold resistant. Impertech™ Workwear provides complete waterproof protection with comfort rarely found in such lightweight fabrics.
Rainlight
Unlined, polyurethane coated on the inside, extremely lightweight nylon waterproof rain protection. Perfect for mild weather on the job or emergency protection for sudden storms.
Helly Tech®
Helly Tech® is the name of Helly Hansen's technology and performance standard for creating waterproof breathable garments. Waterproof, breathable fabrics are permeable to moisture vapor but impermeable to liquid moisture. They allow vapor caused by perspiration to escape, while keeping out rain and snow.

100% Waterproof
The collection consists of 100% waterproof PVC- and PU- coated clothes, providing superior protection and durability. PVC-coated garments have an extremely hard-wearing coating and are resistant to water as well as most chemicals, acids and oils. PU-coated clothes are lighter, softer and more resistant to the cold. Our comprehensive collection includes waterproof garments made from different base textiles, designed for different needs. Woven cotton is more comfortable against the skin and reduces condensation. Knitted synthetic textiles offer lower weight and superior tear strength. The seam techniques HH Microweld™ and HH Seamseal™ make seams 100% waterproof and highly durable.
Exceed Test Requirements
All waterproof garments from Helly Hansen Workwear are tested and approved in accordance with EN 343. Our most robust collections greatly exceed the requirements, while others are lighter and more flexible to meet less demanding conditions. You will also find waterproof garments with flame resistant properties [EN 531 and/or ASTM standards] as well as waterproof visibility clothing with fluorescent colours and reflective materials [EN 471].

MICROWELD™ Our patented MICROWELD™ system begins when we sew our raingear with a specially developed monofilament thread designed to fuse into the garment. The seams are then "welded" using radio waves to create a molecular bond that is actually stronger than the original fabric.	A-SERIES A-Series is a double-sided PVC on a light polyester scrim. The double coating is easier to clean and will not absorb moisture or oils. A-Series is well suited for food processing, construction work, or recreational fishing and hunting.	MULTICOATING Helly Hansen's multicoating process revolutionized rainwear in 1975. Several thin layers of polyurethane or PVC are applied to a base fabric, rather than one thick coating. The result is a more durable fabric that is impervious to the elements yet remains soft and flexible in cold conditions.
