COMPLETE NON-ENTRY SYSTEMS
To insure OSHA and ANSI compliance when entering a vertical confined space, an attendant must be prepared to initiate non-entry rescue as soon as a situation arises. When a confined space is more than six feet deep, a worker must also be protected from possible falls.
Three types of rugged, easy to use confined space anchorages are available to meet worksite demands. Each type of anchorage - tripods, quadpods and davits - can be used for arrest, retrieval, and lowering of workers in confined spaces.
Gemtor confined space equipment can be ordered as a complete system or as individual components. All system components are compatible, but be sure to check usage restrictions for the type of confined space retrieval you need. All components meet or exceed OSHA and ANSI standards.

ARRESTING/RETRIEVAL/LOWERING SYSTEM
Gemtor complete non-entry confined space retrieval systems come complete with everything you need to enter a vertical confined space with an acceptable means of access. If there is no acceptable means of access, then a work positioning winch such as the Model # MRW-50 (see pg. 24) will need to be added to the system.
Each complete system includes:

Model TP-7 Aluminum Tripod
When positioned over opening, serves as system anchorage point.

Model RS3 Arresting/Retrieval/Lowering Device
Multi-function device that arrests a worker's fall and then can be used to raise or lower the worker to safety.

Model 51 C Split Pulley
Attaches to eyebolt on tripod head using carabiner below and directs lifeline into opening as a worker ascends and descends or is raised or lowered.

TRIPODS
Gemtor's lightweight yet durable aluminum tripods feature a cast aluminum head with automatic leg locks that make set-up and take-down quick and easy. Two forged eyebolts are provided for attachment of any combination of Gemtor retrieval winches, retractable lifelines or auxiliary equipment. Each of the tripod's telescoping legs may be independently adjusted to compensate for uneven terrain using quick insert locking pins. Cast aluminum feet with anti-skid rubber pads and leg chains help make Gemtor tripods OSHA compliant anchorages capable of supporting 5,000 Ibs.

MODEL QP-4 PORTABLE QUADPOD
Ideal for situations where the use of a tripod is either impractical or impossible. The Quadpod is easy to set-up and collapse and each leg can be independently adjusted to compensate for uneven terrain. The removable boom rotates 360° and locks in any position. Height 90", Reach 26", Tested static load 5400 Ibs., Working load 310 Ibs., Distance between legs 54".

PERMANENT DAVIT
The davit's permanent base can be mounted to steel flooring or concrete, or on the back of a truck and is especially useful for tank entry or over edges. A removable boom that rotates 360° easily attaches to the base and can be locked in any position to offer flexibility for maneuvering equipment or a worker. Additional bases and poles can be ordered (see below) and one or more booms can be moved among many permanently installed bases. COMPONENTS

Gemtor Quadpod/Davit components are fully interchangeable; one or more rotating booms can be moved between any combination of permanent and portable bases.
Model QP-D Rotating Boom
Attaches to either a portable or permanent base; features two mounting positions for any combination of Gemtor fall arrest/retrieval, work and man rated winches, and one mounting position for a hanging fall protection device. Two (2) pulleys are integrated into the end of the boom. Weighs 57 Ibs.

GEMTOR ARRESTING/ RETRIEVAL/LOWERING DEVICE (THREE-WAY)
Multi-function fall arrest/retrieval device helps protect a worker from falling and has an integral winch mechanism that allows a worker to be raised to the surface quickly and easily. Attaches to any Gemtor Tripod, Quadpod, or Davit with quick-insert locking pins or can be hung from overhead using an optional carabiner. (See pg. 20) Features include a large, rubber-coated knob which makes engaging and disengaging retrieval mode an easy, one-hand operation. Precision internal components and a strong, weather-resistant cast aluminum housing ensure reliability and dependability. The Model # RS3 has two independent braking systems: an energy absorbing centrifugal brake arrests a fall softly within 24"; a friction brake activates immediately when raising or lowering is stopped and holds the load in place.

The unit is supplied with 3/16" diameter galvanized or stainless steel cable lifeline in 50' or 100' lengths and has a permanently attached locking swivel snaphook with impact indicator for connection to a full-body harness. An adjustable length handle allows the operator to choose between faster retrieval or less required cranking force.

Attaches to any Gemtor Tripod, Quadpod, or Davit. Comes with 3/16" diameter galvanized or stainless steel cable with locking swivel snaphook with impact indicator permanently attached. An adjustable length handle allows the operator to choose between faster retrieval or less required cranking force.
NOT FOR FALL ARREST. A fall arrest system must be used with the Model # MRW if work height exceeds 6'.

WRISTLETS

Model 930Y with Yoke Lanyard-Wristlets are made of durable 3-ply neoprene impregnated nylon and are designed for use in confined spaces or tanks with narrow openings where the worker may have to be withdrawn. Wristlets are sold in pairs; each wristlet has a permanent­ly attached 1" wide x 6' long (3' each leg) polyester web yoke lanyard with a D-ring in the center.

YOKE LANYARD with Spreader Bar

Model 261SB Two-legged 1" wide polyester web lanyard with a locking snaphook at each end and a D-ring in the center. Spreader bar separates lanyard's legs for attachment to shoulder D-rings of harness. Standard length: 5' (30" each leg).

Model 261LY - Yoke Lanyard Same as Model # 261SB except without the spreader bar. Standard length: 6' (3' each leg).

PULLEY

Stainless steel cheeks open to allow placement of cable or rope on 3/4" wide 3-1/2" diameter aluminum sheave. Weighs 1-1/4 lbs. Working load 310 lbs.
