Introducing Gemtor's new series of Tie-Back Lanyards. These lanyards are specifically designed so that the webbing may be wrapped around an OSHA compliant structural support and the automatic locking carabiner can be "snapped" back onto the lanyard. Features include; captive locking carabiner for tie-back or direct connection to anchorage, and dual layer, dual color design. The black inner layer is made of high strength polyester webbing, the yellow outer layer offers additional strength, and helps protect the inner layer from abrasion and cutting. The contrasting colors help the user identify when the lanyard is severely worn. FEATURES:

Gemtor decelerator lanyards feature an energy absorbing inner core and a strong protective outer shell made of tubular webbing. If a fall occurs, the inner core expands smoothly, while the outer shell protects the core from damage and acts as a backup. |
|
|
OSHA mandates that the fall arrest forces on a worker not exceed 1,800 Ibs. when wearing a full-body harness. Gemtor, |lnc. recommends that an energy/shock absorber be used twhenever the possibility of a free fall exists to assure that forces are below the OSHA limits. Energy absorbers can increase fall distance by up to 42". Make sure the available fall space permits the use of an energy absorber. |

Care should be taken to prevent abrasions or cuts. Ropes with larger diameters have greater abrasion resistance. Specify length when ordering. All lanyards, lifelines and positioning lines come standard with Model # 3155 locking snaphook(s) with 5/8" gate opening. The selection of your lanyard is as important as the proper selection of your body belt or full-body harness. Lanyards should be kept as short as possible to reduce the possibility of serious injury. OSHA mandates that free fall distances not exceed 6'. See above for synthetic fiber properties chart. Gemtor recommends that an energy absorber be part of a fall arrest system whenever possible, in order to ensure that forces incurred during a fall are less than the OSHA limit of 1,800 Ibs. |

| Gemtor VF400 Series and VF505 Series rope grabs for synthetic rope lifelines qualify as OSHA-compliant energy absorbing components of a fall arrest system. When using the Model #VW655 vertical rope grab for wire rope lifelines, an energy absorbing lanyard must be used. Gemtor recommends the use of a 3' lanyard with rope grabs to ensure that free fall distance will not exceed 6'. Small, lightweight rope-grabbing devices ride a vertical lifeline and automatically lock in place if a fall occurs. |

Energy Absorbing Rope Grab for 5/s" diameter, vertical synthetic lifelines. This Rope Grab is very similar to our popular Model # VF505 in design and performance. It is made of stainless steel for superior corrosion resistance, reduces the forces generated during a fall to a level well below OSHA and ANSI limits. Unlike many other rope grabs, all Gemtor rope grabs are designed not to abrade the rope during normal use. The Model # VF400 rope grab is threaded onto the lifeline at the free end and stays with the lifeline so that it is always there when you need it. VF400 - Stainless steel, energy absorbing rope grab |
Automatic rope grab follows a worker up and down a 5/8" - 3/4" diameter vertical synthetic rope lifeline. The unit's controlled, shock-absorbing action eliminates the need for an energy absorber lanyard. The patented design allows the rope grab to be attached, detached, and positioned at any point on the vertical lifeline. Weighs 1 1/2 Ibs. and is made of stainless steel. NY State Approval # 9502. (Approval limited to rope grab only.) VF505 - Stainless steel, energy absorbing rope grab with snaphook compatible connection ring |

CABLE GRABS
This compact and lightweight cable grab is made of stain-less steel and is designed to follow the ascending and descending movement of a worker along a vertical wire rope lifeline. The grab can be used on 5/16"-3/8", 7x19 stainless steel wire rope lifelines and a unique patented design allows for it to be attached, detached or positioned at any point along the lifeline. An energy absorbing lanyard must be used for attachment of the cable grab to the back D- ring of a full-body harness. VW655 |
WIRE ROPE LIFELINES

Gemtor Horizontal Lifeline Systems are engineered to provide a temporary OSHA-compliant anchorage point when no overhead anchorage exists or when a worker needs the ability to move across a horizontal surface while tied off. When used in conjunction with an approved full-body harness and lanyard, the complete system has the ability to arrest a work-er's fall and limit the forces transmitted to the worker and the system's anchor points. Many system configurations are available to accommodate work site and environmental conditions. |
