DBI - SALA Fall Protection and Rescue Systems

Use this simple, extremely reliable rescue or positioning system to raise and or lower yourself or someone else, providing a stable way to reach a working level, even in tight quarters. After reaching the working level, you can lock out the RPD without needing a tie-off. Backup safety is provided through an inertial speed brake that activates automatically if you lose control or become unconscious. A slight tug on the rope will resume the raising or lowering.

Rescue and Descent Systems

In any emergency, you can depend on the Rescumatic Automatic Descent Controller for safe, automatic, controlled descent from overhead cranes, towers, buildings or other heights. The system is easy to operate and ready to go, requiring no special skills and no outside power source. As soon as the unit is secured to and anchorage, it is ready to use. As one person put on the harness and is lowered, a second harness travels up ready for use by the next person.

Eliminates the Fall Hazard When we talk about fall protection, the image that often comes to mind is a worker using a full body harness connected to an anchor point with a lanyard, in other words, a Personal Fall Arrest System (PFAS). PFAS are actually one of the later choices in a comprehensive fall protection program. Your first step should be trying to eliminate the fall hazard altogether. This may be accomplished with a modification to the job description, work process and/or work area to eliminate the need to work at height. The next step is to use fall prevention systems such as DBI/SALA's Portable Guard Rail system. This system acts as a barrier that prevents personnel from falling to lower levels, thus eliminating the fall hazard. Where suitable, they protect the greatest number of employees with little or no training, no special maintenance and no special gear.

Provides Versatility and Jobsite Flexibility Whether you are setting up the guardrail around the perimeter of a roof or closing off a wall opening, the system will prevent personnel from falling to the lower level. The system can be used for unprotected roof edges, floor hatchways or chutes, leading edge, around skylites, truck or rail docks, floor or wall openings, wells, pits, shafts, manholes and more.

Ease-of-Installation Once the bases are located in the proper position, insert the guardrail sections into the base plate's fitting and torque the set screws. The set screw design offers added stability and no "wobble" typically associated with pinned designs. Installation is quick and easy with no special tools required.

Higher Efficiency, Added Mobility and Improved Safety

The cab mount bracket and Rebel combination provides the order picker operator with 11 feet of added mobility (compared to 6 feet with a standard lanyard). The retractable lifeline freely pays out and retracts, staying taut at all times eliminating snagging and trip fall hazards. A built-in roller on the cab mount bracket prevents wear and provides smooth lifeline operation. The Rebel SRL reacts quickly if a person falls, locking up within a short distance, helping minimize the forces on the body and reducing the possibility of hitting an object below.

Easy to Install Comes complete with all necessary hardware. Two sets of U-bolts allow bracket to clamp onto most cab structures, no welding or drilling required. The Rebel SRL easily attached to the cab mount bracket using one bolt. The Rebel is held securely in the bracket and is protected from damage.

Arresting Capabilities The Rebel incorporates a unique speed sensing brake that keeps forces to a minimum, and reduces clearance requirements. With a maximum arresting force of 900 Ibs., it supports a capacity of 310 Ibs.
