Tyvek® is an excellent barrier to many harmful dry particulates including asbestos, lead dust, glass reinforced fibers and radioactive dusts.
Applications: Paint spraying, pesticides handling, asbestos abatement, clean room, fiberglass handling, food processing, general maintenance, light chemicals, mining operations, nuclear industries, etc.
Description of Fabric: Tyvek is a DuPont spunbonded olefin which has an antistatic coating applied and then put through a point bonded process that provides opacity. It was developed for asbestos removal, working with fiberglass and use in clean rooms. Although uncoated tyvek provides some liquid splash protection, it is not recommended for use against liquid chemicals or gases. Air conditioned tyvek provides greater breathability and is the fabric of choice for use in non-hazardous environments where low linting is required. Tyvek has not unusual burning charcteristics and meets the Flammable Fabrics Act requirements for Class 1 materials. However, it is not flame resistant and should not be used around heat, flame, sparks or in potentially flammable or explosive environments.

Saranex coated Tyvek23-P offers excellent liquid barrier protection in limited use apparel. More protective than Polycoated Tyvek because it resists a wider range of chemicals.
Applications: Acid handling and tank cleaning, agricultural and pesticide handling, asbestos abatement, chemical handling, emergency medical services, hazardous waste management, metal finishing and paint spraying.
Description of fabric: Saranex/Tyvek 23-P is a standard tyvek that is laminated with Saranex film. It offers superior protection, more so than polyethylene coated fabrics because it resists a wider range of chemicals. It has zero permeability to air and moisture, and therefore provides total protection against hazardous materials that are contacted during many industrial and hazardous situations.
