Derma Shield helps maintain healthy skin by protecting it from harmful or annoying stimuli that cause chafing, chapping and cracking while providing soothing moisturizers. Derma Shield is a non-greasy, non-toxic proprietary formulation offering maximum protection which can be applied to any area of the skin Derma Shield’s effectiveness is greatly dependent upon skin preparation which requires thorough washing and drying before the product is applied. Derma Shield must be completely rubbed onto the skin surface taking care to achieve complete coverage. Within 4 to 5 minutes after proper application, Derma Shield has become an invisible protectant against continued aggravation of abused, sensitive skin and may aid in halting the continuation of skin irritation. Derma Shield does not wash off your skin once it has dried, even after repeated washings. It bonds to the sloughing layer of the epithelium and dissipates as the dead skin cells slough off. A small amount also disappears by sublimation. For maximum protection, Derma Shield must be reapplied every 3 to 4 hours. The directions on the can must be followed carefully. Derma Shield contains Lanolin, Aloe Vera and Vitamin E which help moisturize and nuture the skin while protecting it. It will not clog the skin’s pores nor affect the sense of touch or the natural mobility of the hands. Derma Shield contains no Chlorofluorocarbons (CFC’s). Derma Shield is not a medicine, nor is it a substitute for conventional protective measures or devices such as gloves. Derma Shield is an over-the-counter (OTC) skin protectant drug product and has the following National Drug Code (NDC) number: 059542-111.
