| A practical alternative to using oak wedges as wheel chocks. Wheel Wedge is designed to chock idle rail cars on storage tracks where cars are not subjected to vibration. Moulded in a special grade of urethane, the wedge is 10” long x 2-1/2” high x 3-1/4” wide. Rail car must be stationary before using wedge. After setting car brake, worker slips Wedge under wheel. The wedge blocks the wheel and when the wedge needs to be moved, the worker does not have to stoop down and try to free it from the wheel. Instead, the rail car can be run over the edge with no damage to the wedge and no risk of derailing the car. Do not use wheel wedge for cars being loaded or unloaded--use steel wheel chocks instead. Use on exposed rail (rail above ground level). |

The SaberTooth derailer is available in three versions: two way, left throw and right throw. The Two-Way is a TRUE Two-Way derail because there are two hooks so the derail can't move in either direction. There's no wedge to relocate depending on derail direction. ALDON'S TWO-WAY DERAIL IS ALWAYS READY. Aldon's portable Sabertooth derails are the lightest portable derails on the market. |

One way and two way derailing for industrial sidings and approaches to buildings. Aldon portable derails stand 2-3/4 in. above top of rail to meet current railroad locomotive clearance requirements. Tie-biting hook (shown above, left) prevents derail from sliding in the event a tie brace notch slips off tie plate. Hook remains trapped between two ties during derailing. |
