ALDON® COMPANY, INC. Aldon® Company, Inc., manufactures a wide variety of railroad safety and track maintenance products. The company was founded in 1904 in Chicago. In its early years, Aldon® supplied the railroads with rerailers, rail benders and manual car movers. In time, with the creation of OSHA and other safety standards for industrial workers, Aldon® broadened its product line to include wheel chocks, warning signs, derails, lights and many other specialized rail safety products. In the 1970s, Aldon® added a line of trailer stabilizing jacks and truck wheel blocks. Aldon® Company is best known for its rail wheel chocks, which feature replaceable rail-biting spurs. Aldon's® Sabertooth™ portable derail marks an advance in derail engineering by providing non-slip derailing capability in an emergency. The company maintains two websites and issues an annual printed catalog. Aldon® operates two manufacturing facilities — the main plant at Waukegan, Illinois, and a new satellite plant in St. Louis, Missouri.
