This 10" portable blower series has been developed for the customer who may need to run long lengths of ventilation duct. This can easily be accomplished with Air Systems' economical tube axial 10" diameter ventilator. Intake and exhaust flanges allow for either 8" or 10" duct to be attached to either end of the blower with multiple blowers placed in series to achieve positive or negative ventilation. The blower is lightweight and weighs less than thirty pounds. It is available in standard electric or CSA approved explosion proof electric.

| The Saddle Vent® was invented by a professional tank cleaner to make it easy for his workers to enter and exit a confined space. The Saddle Vent® takes up only 3 inches in a manhole and functions as an air conduit. Eight inch air hose is attached to both ends of the Saddle Vent® and placed in the entry access hole, thus eliminating the need to remove the hose each time entry or egress is required. The Saddle Vent revolutionizes confined space operations by offering a level of safety and productivity that has never been available. One model is available for industrial manhole work, and a specific model is designed for doing tank entry work. The Saddle Vent's unique air flow design does not reduce air flow to the worker. The Saddle Vent ventilator provides continuous access to the manhole for either entry or egress. Traveling in and out of the confined space can now be done quickly and safely. The Saddle Vent increases worker productivity as well as the ability to perform confined space entry rescue. The entire Saddle Vent system can be completely set up in less than five minutes. Eight inch air duct is installed on the bottom of the Saddle Vent and run to the bottom of the manhole; this allows fresh air to be supplied to the workers and displace any harmful gases that may be deadly for the occupants. The use of the 90º elbow removes the severe kink in the air duct and allows for rotation of the intake duct to any desired position at the street level. | Air Systems is introducing a second industrial style Saddle Vent and elbow manufactured from conductive polyethylene material. The recent development of this conductive material provides for a level of safety during confined space ventilation that has not been available to industry. During confined space ventilation, static electricity can build up on the surface of the ventilation ducting and the standard orange polyethylene Saddle Vent. Given the right conditions of humidity, airborne dust and static buildup, the static electricity can discharge and cause a spark. If this occurs while working in an explosive or potentially explosive environment, a major accident could result. The only safe way to prevent this source of ignition during ventilation is to remove the static electricity through proper grounding of the entire ventilation system. Standard PVC ducting and polyethylenen can retain static electricity and should not be used if there is a potential for the existence of explosive gases in the confined space. Air Systems can now offer is Conductive Saddle Vent system to improve the safety of workers during confined space ventilation. The new black Saddle Vent and companion 90º elbow is manufactured with conductive polyethylene material. Grounding lugs are mounted on each device. They are used to connect the steel grounding wire provided with conductive ducting to the conductive Saddle Vent and elbow. This make a complete electrical circuit all the way back to the explosion proof blower where the final grounding lug is located. The electrical blower must be connected to a grounded electrical source and thus completes the full electrical circuit. This circuit provides a path for static electricity to travel to a grounded source thus preventing a build up of the surface of the ducting or Saddle Vent. For work in explosive environments, read and follow recommended work procedures found in ANSI/API 2015 and 2016 prior to entering a tank or confined space. |
