The boom mounted lift arm can be utilized as a 3Ø or 1Ø lifting attachment when mounted, to derrick trucks and bucket trucks that have lifting capabilities. It can be used for change out of poles, cross arms, insulators and midspan lifting requirements.
The lift arm can be mounted to a square, rectangular, round or oval booms by ordering the proper boom adapters and blocks. The boom mounting assembly features a ratchet which allows the arm to be positioned under load. Total arc covered is 45º.

• The below listed tools enable operating personnel the capability of grounding de-energized substations safely and easily with use of the Ground Lifting Tool.

Capacitor Discharge Tool

The Capacitor Discharge Tool is designed to safely drain the capacitive charge after the circuit is de-energized. An optional add on resistor to limit discharge current is available and shown below.
The Discharge Tool is factory assembled to include the following components:
• 24 inch 1-1/4" O.D. Fiberglass Pole with Handguard. The Fiberglass Pole is electrically tested to OSHA and ASTM F-711 Standards.

The Electro Static Precipitator Tool is designed to safely remove the static charge after de-energizing for service work.

The distribution/sub transmission grounding set is factory assembled and can be used on a three phase grounded wye or Delta system.
The grounding set provides jumper lengths adequate for crossarm construction and armless (narrow profile) construction.
The grounding set includes a grounding cluster bar which enables the user to provide "single point" grounding practices if this method is approved on their system.

TRUCK GROUNDING REEL(Spring Retractable)
Compact designed grounding reels provide an efficient and positive means to ground trucks working on or near energized electric lines. Grounding reels have been tested for maximum fault current rating. Test Data available. The ground connection from reel to the vehicle, is made during the initial installation. Due to this design, operators only need to connect the free end to a suitable ground ie; system neutral or screw grounding rod.

• Reels are designed to be bolted to the vehicle so they can be removed easily for transfer to new trucks.
• Spring rewind drum for controlled payout and take up. 4 way cable guide rollers allow for one man operation and prevents excessive wear on the ground cable.

PORTABLE - PROTECTIVE GROUND MAT

The new Portable-Protective "Ground Mat" from HASTINGS provides a method for workers to establish an equal potential zone for multiple grounding applications. The GROUND MAT is manufactured of vinyl-polyester fabric, with high ampacity, tinned-copper braid sewn into a grid pattern. The braided copper on the grid connects to a six inch termination stud on the corner of the mat. The ground mat is then bonded to the equipment being worked on by using a safe and reliable ground cable assembly.

WORK APPLICATIONS:
• URD Padmount Transformers and Switchqear: Creates an equal potential zone similar to that of a ground cluster bar used with a single point grounding overhead application.
• Transmission and Distribution, pole mounted, gang operated switches: When the operator is standing on the ground mat, "step-and-touch" potential is eliminated when hand contact is made with the switch handle while both feet are on the ground mat.
• Line Apparatus: Any operation where the operator must stand on the ground to operate equiment such as pole mounted devices, the ground mat can be used. Such as installing, maintaining, or operating regulators, reclosers, capacitor banks, and metering.

Temporary grounds shall be placed at such locations and arranged in such a manner as to prevent each employee from being exposed to hazardous differences in electrical potential. (The HASTINGS Ground Mat accomplishes this similarly to a grounding cluster bar used on a single point grounding overhead application.)

> Methods of Use:

When installing or placing the ground mat, the cable grid can be placed facing down or facing up. With the grid face-up it will wear faster than face-down placement. On face-down placement, be sure and guard against, rocks and loose debris that may damage the grounding braid. Inspect your work site and
choose the best possible application.

> Applications:

The HASTINGS Ground Mat can be applied to most applications using the customers own personal protection ground cable assemblies. The "standard" Ground Mat comes with one 6-inch ferrule, compressed on the copper braid at one corner of the mat. This is the attaching point for installing your ground cables and bonding the mat to the equipment being worked on. As shown below the Ordering Information on the previous page, multiple mats can be bonded together by ordering the mats with a flat one-hole spade compressed on to the braided cable at the opposite corner from the 6-inch ferrule. The one-hole spades can be bolted together to bond the multiple mats. The mats can then be secured to one another with Vn" rope or standard nylon lock-ties.

> Care and Maintenance:

Cleaning: Normal water hose pressure or a pressure-washer can be used to clean ground mats. (Allow mat to dry before storing.)
Storage: The mat may be rolled or folded to fit in storage bins or containers. Continual folding of the mat in the exact same manner may create more stress on the cable braid if always folded at the same point.
Inspection: Should the braided conductor making up the grid become severed, the ground mat should not be used and must be removed from service immediately.

• Any corrosion, dirt, or sediment must be removed from the grid conductor as soon as possible to avoid damage to the grid.
• Before each use inspect the cable to ferrule termination for any broken cable strands or fatigue.
