  • Hastings Impact Tool is designed to provide operating personnel a tool for safe removal and installation of elbow connectors on transformers, switch gear and other apparatus utilizing elbow connectors
  • Positive latch fiberglass operating rod is spring loaded and locks the gripper securely to the elbow by rotating the tool to the right. This positive latch feature allows the operator to position the elbow in either direction once the elbow is pulled without loosening its grip. After the elbow is positioned in its proper place, the gripper is released by pulling the operating rod towards the operator and rotating to the left.
  • Slide handle is employed by impacting if elbow is difficult to remove from bushing. The slide weight can also be utilized to "seat" the elbow in its normal position by impacting the slide handle towards the elbow. The slide handle weighs 5 lbs. and is plastisol coated. Grit is used on hands area to provide positive grip
  • Components - fiberglass has solid foam core and is tested per ASTM F-711. Metal components are either heat treated aluminum alloy, ductile iron or plated steel

Impact Elbow Puller with Torque Handle Feature
The above impact elbow tools can be ordered with a torque handle feature factory installed. Polypropylene
Polypropylene is rapidly becoming the most widely used synthetic rope. Size for size, it is the lightest and costs less per foot than any other synthetic rope. This flexible, easy working rope has high performance characteristics including minimum stretch and excellent shock resistance. Specially lubricated to relieve internal wear. So light it floats. Stored wet or dry, it will not rot or mildew and is not affected by acids, alkalis, oils, grease, gasoline or other chemicals. All sizes are ultraviolet stabilized. Three strand construction. Yellow color.
Recommended for: general purpose hand lines, stringing lines, tag lines. Not recommended for capstans.

Dacron
Dacron rope is ideal for running lines, rigging, block and tackle and other applications where minimum stretch, great strength and durability are needed for top performance. Made from Du Pont's Type 67 polyester fiber, it handles more like manila than other synthetics while possessing more than twice the strength of manila plus a remarkable resistance to abrasion. Longer performance is assured by special internal lubrication which relieves wear. Because of the fine resistance to rot and mildew, this rope can be stored wet or dry. Three strand construction.
Recommended for: block and tackle, bull lines, handlines, stringing lines.

Nylon
The great strength and toughness of nylon rope account for superior performance in many applications. At least two and one half times stronger than manila, and stronger than any synthetic rope now commercially available, it has remarkable resistance to abrasion, will absorb far greater shock loading than other ropes and in constant daily use outlasts manila many times. Naturally white, nylon rope is flexible and easy to handle. It is widely used where maximum strength is a requirement. Three strand construction.
Recommended for: block and tackle, slings, handlines, general purpose.

Hastings nylon slings are high strength, wear resistant with material softness for good flexibility
Leather tag stitched on sling shows working load limit. All ratings are based on a 5:1 safety factor when sling is new and unused. Red inner stitching full length shows through when sling needs replacing
Working load limits are rated on basis of a minimum 1" diameter of curvature at all corners or points of load contact without twists - kinks - knots, etc. The listed capacities are reduced in varying degrees depending upon the uses and care to which the products are subjected.
