Wire Tongs
Wire Tongs

New designed head has spring loaded latch which makes installation of wire tong safe and easy. The weight of the tool closes the latch on the conductor. The wire tong is then tightened to secure conductor into position.

  • Hastings fiberglass wire tongs are usually used in pairs with supporting accessories to support and move energized conductors away from the work area for replacement of insulators, cross arms, poles and hardware
  • Fiberglass poles have a solid unicellular foam core and are tested per OSHA and ASTM F-711
  • Metal components are heat treated aluminum alloy and bronze alloy
  • Conductor jaws are interlocking to keep conductor positively engaged
  • Two conductor head sizes are available to accommodate a wide range of conductor sizes
  • Acme threads facilitates tightening of head
  • New head design is only available in medium head size

The Temporary Dead End Arm enables a line crew to spread conductors off an existing dead end arm to gain working clearance for reconductoring and terminating the new conductors.

  • Arms have two bushed holes with 18" spacing to accommodate 5/8" dia. hardware bolts for dead ends. Two aluminum sleeves are installed to prevent wear on the fiberglass arm
  • Steel mounting brackets have multiple holes for adjustment to the various arm sizes. NOTE: adjustment range is described for all catalog numbers shown under ordering information
  • Arms can be installed on either the top or bottom of existing crossarms
  • Two styles available. Butt swivel eye for dead ending a single phase tap line or a 3 way aluminum alloy equipment mounting bracket for mounting a cutout, lightning arrester and dead ending a tap line
