The HEICS naming system has been updated to HICS — Hospital Incident Command System. The chart below shows the changes to the system. The vests used in the new system are all white with colored trim to indicate chain of command relationships.

**New HICS Manuals**
The new HICS manuals consists of 78 volumes corresponding to the new HICS organization chart shown above. There are also 3 System Guidebooks. The 3 guidebooks and samples of the new organization volumes are shown below. All volumes have their titles on the spine of the binder, as shown in the first red volume below.

HICS is an industry recognized organizational chart that clearly defines a chain of command to assist hospitals in managing their staff in the event of a disaster. To implement this system, Western Safety Products offers three different HEICS vest models, available in standard color and legends.
HICS "A" Vest White cloth vest, standard color binding. Night time reflective circles on front and back. Includes black legend on both sides, two lower patch pockets on front side and webbing for name tag. Night Time Reflective.
HICS "B" Vest White cloth vest, standard color binding. Two horizontal night time reflective stripes on front and back. Includes black legend on both sides, one lower patch pocket on right front side, and webbing for name tag. Night Time Reflective.
HICS "C" Vest White cloth vest, standard color binding. Includes black legend on both sides, one lower patch pocket on right front side, and webbing for name tag
