Merino Wool
Icelanders have always worn wool, ever since the first settlers arrived over a thousand years ago. Warm and durable, this traditional clothing has protected us from the elements, generation after generation.
66°North only uses the highest quality Merino wool for its base layers. While all wool retains its insulative qualities when wet, only exceptionally fine wool such as Merino wool can wick moisture away from the skin. We're confident that our wool is the best in the world for use as a moisture-managing base layer. And it is exceptionally soft against the
skin, itch free and machine washable.

100% Merino wool is the ideal natural fibre for performance base layers as it regulates body temperature by controlling the rate of evaporative cooling.
