**3M Powered Air Purifying Respirators**

Overview of 3M air purifying respirators
A PAPR is a motorized respirator system that uses a fan to deliver filtered air into a hood, helmet or facepiece. There are many different PAPR configurations available. PAPR systems include a motor blower unit, a headpiece, a battery and (usually) a breathing tube. Depending on the working environment, select the PAPR style that best suits your needs.

**Types of 3M PAPR Systems**

A belt mounted PAPR is a motorized blower unit worn at the waist, that can deliver filtered air into a hood, helmet or facepiece. There are several belt mounted PAPR's in the 3M line. The motor is typically powered by a Ni-Cad battery. Two of the belt mounted units allow the wearer to choose from a wide selection of filters that offer flexibility and freedom to work in a varitey of industrial environments (organic vapor, acid gas, formaldehyde, ammonia, HEPA and more). There are other belt mounted PAPR solutions that offer a compact, single HEPA filter. These systems are compatible with many different styles of headgear ranging from lightweight hoods, hardhats, helmets and half and full facepiece respirators.	These systems feature a motor blower and HEPA filter mounted on a full facepiece respirator. The Ni-Cad battery is worn on the belt. These compact models offer great balance and a secure fit for the wearer. Face mounted PAPR's are popular where space is limited and a low profile is desirable. The HEPA filter can be used in environments with particulate contamininants such a dust, mists, fumes and radionuclides. It is ideal for asbestos, lead and other hazardous particulate environments. The W-3265S or W-3275S full facepiece can be equipped with a welder's face shield and an autodarkening welding lens.	These products combine respiratory protection with face shield and hardhat protection. The motor blower and high efficiency particulate filter are built into the headgear. This is an easy-to-use product that requires little maintenance and offers great mobility and protection.	The vehicle mounted PAPR combines the simplicity and variety of the 3M GVP-Series belt mounted PAPR with the ability to use a vehicle's power source. The easy to install bracket allows the PAPR to be mounted on the vehicle, rather than on the workers's waist, allowing for greater comfort, freedom and reduced fatigue. This system is popular in pesticide spraying, foundry/steel work, crane operation, landfill and many other applications.

**Breathe Easy Belt Mounted PAPR**

3M Breathe Easy PAPR systems provide comfortable, efficient powered air protection. These systems are available in a wide range of headgear. They use interchageable filters, cartridges and canisters to protect the wearer against gases, vapors and / or particulates. The Breathe Easy turbo motor draws ambient air through a filter/cartridge/canister and supplies filtered air through the breathing tube to the headpiece. The RRPAS (Rapid Response Powered Air System) is an easy-to-use system stored in a unique carrying bag that transforms into a vest with the PAPR components in place and ready for use.
