3M™ Supplied Air Respirators are designed to deliver clean air to the worker. The air* can be supplied from a high pressure compressor, low-pressure pumps, or cylinders (bottled air). Supplied air respirators offer many advantages over traditional respiratory protection including comfort and protection.

3M™ Powered Air Purifying Respirators (PAPRs)
A PAPR is a powered air purifying respirator system that uses a fan to deliver filtered air into a hood, helmet or full facepiece. There are many different PAPR configurations available. Depending on the working environment, select the PAPR style that best meets your needs. Powered air systems also provide head, eye and face protection. They are available as face-mounted, helmet-mounted and belt-mounted configurations. PAPR systems include a headpiece, often a breathing tube, motor-blower unit, filters, a cartridge and battery.
3M™ Supplied Air Respirators
3M™ Supplied Air Respirators are designed to deliver clean air to the worker. The air* can be supplied from a high pressure compressor, low-pressure pumps, or cylinders (bottled air). This clean, breathable air can be delivered to hoods, helmets, full facepieces, half facepieces and loose-fitting facepieces.
Supplied air respirators offer many features over traditional respiratory protection such as:

• Cooling or heating incoming air
• Fit testing only required on tight-fitting facepieces
• Low maintenance

Supplied air systems are a good way to help increase comfort and protection.

The GVP PAPR is a motorized blower unit worn at the waist, that delivers filtered air into a hood, helmet or facepiece. The GVP allows the wearer to choose from a wide selection of filters that offer flexibility and freedom to work in a variety of industrial environments. These systems are compatible with many different styles of headgear ranging from lightweight hoods, bumpcaps, hard hats, helmets and full facepiece respirators.

NIOSH's CBRN Standard
3M now offers two products, 3M™ Full Facepieces FR-M40B and FR-7800B, that meet NIOSH's Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear (CBRN) Standard for full facepiece air purifying respirators. They have been tested and certified by NIOSH for use against many warfare agents including sarin and sulfur mustard as well as many industrial chemicals. They also meet the P100 particulate efficiency standard making them versatile, effective and reliable for handling the kinds of emergencies that are faced by homeland security, military and law enforcement personnel.

3M™ Air-Mate™ High Efficiency Powered Air Purifying Respirator
Air-Mate™ systems incorporate the blower, filter and battery into a compact and lightweight belt-mounted unit for respiratory protection against airborne particulates. These respirators are used extensively in hospitals and in public health applications by health care workers.

• Can be used with either lightweight head cover or hood* made ofTychem® ac. The head cover/hood gives the user a wide field of vision and directs positive airflow into the breathing zone.
• The breathing tube connects the blower unit to the head cover/hood.
• The blower unit is a belt-mounted, lightweight package that combines the filter, battery and motor. It pushes air through the filter and breathing tube to the wearer's head cover/hood.
• Replacement filters are High Efficiency (HE) type with 99.97% filtration efficiency.
• Can be worn with facial hair and glasses. Facial hair must not interfere with faceseal.
• No fit testing is required prior to wearing.

3M™ Full Facepiece FR-M40B
The M-40 full facepiece has been used for years by U.S. Armed Forces all around the world. It has been modified by 3M for easier breathing and is now available for CBRN applications. The 3M™ Full Facepiece FR-M40B with 3M™ Canister FR-15-CBRN or 3M™ Canister CP3N puts 3M at the forefront of innovative products for personal safety.

• Soft silicone faceseal material means a secure fit and increased wearer comfort.
• Assembled with second skin and eyepiece outserts in place. Just attach the FR-15-CBRN canister and you have a NIOSH CBRN-approved system (TC-146-0271).
• Also NIOSH-approved with CP3N canister for use against CS, CN and as a P1 00 filter (TC-14G-0251 Standard) in riot conditions, including those with teargas.
• Two integral speaking diaphragms help provide clearer communications.

3M™ Full Facepiece FR-7800B
This product was designed specifically for homeland security, military and law enforcement personnel and features a low-profile design to help improve comfort. The facepiece is certified by NIOSH for CBRN applications when used with 3M™ Canister FR-15-CBRN. This product positions 3M as one of the leaders in innovative products for personal safety.

• NIOSH-approved with 3M™ Canister CP3N for use against CS, CN and as a P1 00 filter (TC-14G-0251) in riot conditions, including those with teargas.
• Lens meets ANSI Z87 + standard, providing high impact protection. This facepiece can be used as primary eye protection.
